Brief

Paperlust is an Australian stationery company that Krafthaus has worked with since its early startup years. Having built the original event stationery marketplace and its custom card editor, the client came back with a second brief: a business printing storefront that could sell stickers, business cards, signage, banners and labels to Australian small businesses on the same print supply chain and the same production tooling as the original platform.

The Krafthaus Indonesia team took the build. Paperlust Print Shop is a separate storefront with its own catalogue, its own pricing engine and its own content layer, delivered alongside the existing site and maintained by the same team from Jakarta.

The hardest problem was pricing. Print is not a fixed price product. A sticker costs a different amount per unit at 50 pieces than at 5,000, and the number changes again with size, material and finish, and again with the production route the job takes. The easy answer is a quote form. Instead the team modelled the full option matrix in the backend and put the real quantity ladder on the page, so the price updates as the customer configures the job and the customer never has to ask what it costs.

The Technical Elements

  • Custom eCommerce storefront, server rendered for search visibility and responsive across mobile, tablet and desktop.
  • Live pricing engine resolving size, material, finish and quantity to a single price, drawn from the production system rather than a fixed price table.
  • Stripe payment, Algolia catalogue search and bot protection on all public forms.
  • Integrated with Xero, Trello and Mailchimp, with quotes, custom orders, coupons and artwork uploads managed in one place.
  • AWS cloud hosting with CDN-backed delivery, automated deployment and a mirrored test environment covering the full checkout journey.

Additional Consideration Given

The store was built to be found, not only to transact. Category pages carry specification tables, turnaround detail, stock and finish explainers and FAQ content beneath the product grid, and the blog was planned around the sizing and materials questions that print customers search for before they buy. The team continues to maintain and extend the platform from Jakarta, adding new product lines as the client's supplier capability grows and tuning the pricing engine as the production routes change.
